Shaka Dog | Palm Bay

Whether you are looking to get out of doing the dishes on a weeknight or some fun weekend grub, The Shaka Dog is definitely a place you need to check out. Short order, low-cost Hawaiian food. Gets bonus points in our book for being a kid-friendly, casual atmosphere.

We really enjoyed all the food we tried, but the stand-out in our opinion was the Big Island Nachos. House-made kettle cooked potato chips topped with slow roasted pork, sweet chili aioli, teriyaki glaze and green onion…..so good! We could have just split it, the portion was huge — and it was under $9!

The Tuna poke plate was also super tasty.  A few words of caution to less adventurous eaters: 1.) The tuna IS raw. & 2.) It’s got a spicy kick to it. But if you’re cool with those things, you won’t be disappointed. Great flavor.

The obligatory shaved ice when eating Hawaiian fare. Don’t skip this!

Their shrimp salad was delicious too, but maybe less “unique” than the other two dishes that captured our hearts. We’ve also tried their popular hot dogs (before our official “foodie blogger” days…) and those are worth a mention, too. We tried their beef dog with mango sauce all wrapped in a 360 degree bun. Super tasty, and again, cheap!

Definitely check this place out when in Palm Bay!
