Our Cinco De Mayo was well spent at Da Kine Diego’s. We went with some good friends who grew up beachside here and they frequent this place all the time, so we’d been dying to try this local favorite.
Super casual, tropical vibes at this short-order joint. The prices are great, especially considering the large portion sizes.
The stand-out to us was definitely the Insane Burrito. Stuffed full with shredded pork, beans, rice, lettuce, cheese, the WORKS. But what made it over-the-top was drizzling their special “Lizzy sauce” all over it. Couldn’t tell you what’s in it, but it made for a magical flavor experience. Paired with the Guava Jarritos drink, it hit the spot.
And to our unexpected delight, the toddlers could play in a huge sandbox next to the outdoor tables, leaving us to actually enjoy our company and food in peace! Major bonus points with us when a place is this family-friendly.
A great local spot that will be our go-to when the next burrito craving strikes!
