Nomad Cafe-Melbourne

The best thing about going out to eat on a Tuesday night is getting the restaurant mostly to yourself. And in our case, the entire romantic patio at Nomad Cafe to yourself at sunset. Yes please!

This place in the downtown Melbourne area is a cozy, hip little cafe that specializes in local and fresh ingredients. The menu has more Gluten-free and vegetarian options than most, and has an eclectic feel:

We asked our waiter his favorite appetizer (tip- always do this) and he told us the Masa Corn Cakes. So glad we listened to him! Our only complaint was that we wished they filled the entire platter up with these babies. So good. And GF+vegetarian!

For our entrees, Tyler got the fajita tacos and I (Summer) got the special that night – a Monk fish with mango salsa+sweet potato purée+grilled veggies. Don’t google Monkfish before you eat it (it looks like a scary swamp monster) but DO know that it has a lobster-type consistency and it was delicious! I love ordering specials when we go out because the chefs really seem to go the extra mile with creating something unique!
