Becoming field experts in local eats ain’t easy, but someone’s gotta do it.
For the second year in a row, we committed to trying at least one new restaurant a week on the Space Coast, and sharing our favorites along the way via Instagram (@spacecoastfoodies). In no particular order, here were our favorite spots we came across this year. (See last year’s top 6 list here)
1. 4th Street Fillin Station – Cocoa Beach
A foodie hotspot disguised as a quirky gas station. Diverse menu with creative spins on American favorites, including clean-eating options. Killer outdoor patio space great for groups.
2. Ember & Oak – Downtown Melbourne
Next-level eating. Impressive, ever-changing menu of high-quality meats, charcuterie boards, and more. Splurge for the wallet and the tummy, but if you’re gunna go big, go here.
3. Rising Tide & Tap – Cape Canaveral
Great craft burgers, tacos, and view of Exploration Tower. Group-friendly.
4. Mangia & Bevi – Cocoa Beach
Easy to miss in its small, strip-mall location, but this is the most authentic Napoli-style Italian pizza you’ll find on the Space Coast.
5. Something Sweet Cake Studio – Port St. John
They didn’t win Cupcake Wars for nothing. The sweets here and no joke, and the cinnamon rolls are life-changing.
6. Third Culture Kitchen – Titusville
Global fusion dishes you won’t see anywhere else. Thoughtfully prepared food in a hip interior space. Ahead of its time in this town.
7. Green Turtle Market – Indian Harbour Beach
Beautiful, gourmet eats at a small restaurant located inside a specialty market. Don’t skip the lobster roll!
8. Merritt Island Pancake House – Merritt Island
Endless variety of perfect, sweet, fluffy pancakes inside a humble breakfast diner. Their cinnamon roll pancake is the stuff of legends.
9. Old Grant Creamery / Maggie’s Ice Cream – Grant, Viera
The best homemade ice cream on the Space Coast. Two different locations. Maggie’s has a larger variety of flavors, or go to Grant for the more charming atmosphere.
10. Pompano Grill- Cocoa Beach
Thoughtfully prepared, gourmet food where every bite is a joyful flavor experience. Intimate, date-night atmosphere.
